The Annual Labor Day Run will be held beginning in downtown Newton Falls.  This is a four mile run through Newton Falls and the township.  The proceeds benefit senior citizen van operated fund and is sponsored by the Kiwanis of Newton Falls.  The event runs from 8:00AM until Noon on Monday, September 1st.

Mill Creek MetroParks wrapes up the 7UP Summerfest Spectacular on Wednesday, September 3rd with an evening of favorites from Easy Street Productions.  The music gets underway at 7:00PM at the Judge Morley Pavilion in the Wick Recreation Area.  The performance is free but don't forget to bring your lawn chair and or blankets for this lawn seating evening.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are at home to host the Williamsport Cross Cutters and Eastwood Field in Niles on Wednesday, September 3rd and Thursday, September 4.  The games will get underway both nights at 7:05.

Friday, September 5, 2008 and Saturday, September 6, 2008
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers extend their home stand at Eastwood Field in Niles on Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th as they host the Auburn Doubledays.  The games will get underway both nights at 7:05.  These are the final two games of the 2008 Scrappers Season.

The Time Warner Cable Summit Rock Showcase at the Warren Community Amphitheatre continues on Saturday, September 6th with Mr. Speed, a tribute band to "Kiss" with the opener for 7 T 7 with strong female rock vocals.  7 T 7 will take the stage at 5:00PM.

The Annual Gospel Radio Choir Concert will be held at the Packard Music Hall in Warren on Saturday, September 6th at 7:00PM.  The concert is presented by St. James Cogic and is free of charge.

Once again the Packard Trust brings you the W.D. Packard Concert Band in concert at the Packard Music Hall in Warren on Sunday, September 7th at 3:00PM.

The Central Christian Church in Warren will hold an outdoor Flea Market from 9:00AM until 4:00PM.  There will be furniture, antiques and collectibles, jewelry, housewares and more.  There will also be a bake sale and food available for purchase.

The Time Warner Cable Summit Rock Showcase at the Warren Community Amphitheatre continues on Saturday, September 13th with three great tribute bands:  Broken Road (tribute to Rascal Flatts), Captain Fantastic (tribute to Elton John) and 52nd Street (tribute to Billy Joel) on Saturday, September 13th.  All the music gets started at 5:00PM and continues until 11:00PM.

St. Dominic's School will hold their School Reunion on Saturday, September 13th beginning at 5:00PM with a Mass at the Church.  Hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6:00PM until 7:00PM with a Dinner/Dance with the Great Pretenders from 7:00 until 11:00PM.  The location for the Dinner/Dance will be St. Dominic's School which is now used as the Parish Center.  The cost is $30.00 per person with proceeds to benefit the Dominican Sisters.  For information call 330-783-1900, extension 242.  Only 300 tickets will be sold so purchase your tickets quickly at the Priory Office at 7 East Lucius Avenue in Youngstown.

The Scott Mayesky Motorcycle Run & Benefit Dinner will be held on Sunday, September 14th.  Registration begins at 10:00AM at Glorious Homes, Inc., 14 N. Anderson Avenue, Austintown.  The first bike will be out at 11:30AM.  The run will go for about 3 hours with one stop with the ending point at The Open Hearth, 207 Steel Street in Youngstown.  Cost is $25.00 per couple or $15.00 per single.  Maps will be given at registration and a police escort will be provided when needed.  There will be a benefit dinner for Scott and Judie Mayesky.  There will also be a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction items and prizes.  There will be plenty of homemade food.  All proceeds will benefit Scott Mayesky Family and their battle against this year-long extreme medical condition and his "Road to Recovery".  All riders may attend the benefit dinner at no extra cost.  Others are welcome to attned with a $10.00 donation at the door.

The Weekends of September 26-28, 2008 and October 3-5 2008
It's the Giant Pumpkin Festival at Yankee Lake Festival Grounds in Brookfield for two big weekends.  Fridays September 26th and October 3rd from 4:00PM until 11:00PM, Saturdays September 27th and October 4th from 11:00AM until Midnight and Sundays, September 28th and October 5th from 11:00AM until 7:00PM.  It's a harvest festival featuring arts and crafts.  There will be a Civil War encampment, games, musical entertainment, food vendors and much more.
